The Occupy Movement (http://occupywallst.org/) has inspired a true revival of grassroots activism in the U.S., bringing thousands of people out to support the creation of a progressive plan to reverse the downward spiral our country is in. What started as a movement to emphasis the growing gap between the rich and the poor, has become a multi-issue conversation, showing the connection between all oppressions and all struggles.
The animal protection movement must be part of that conversation. We must speak out for the 99% of animals who are threatened with human imposed suffering due to cruelty, exploitation, habitat loss and environmental devastation.
IDA has created a card called Occupy Compassion. To those with friends and family in the US, free Occupy Compassion cards are available to hand out at your local Occupy protest anywhere in the U.S. If you are out of the U.S., a donation to offset mailing costs would be appreciated.
Introduce people in your community to animal rights issues and ask them to take action for animals.
