Almost precise summary of the current state of animals in India and how the law and population deals with its animal wealth.

Its interesting how people reconcile or balance consuming meat and practicing religion which preaches Ahimsa. More interesting is their ignorance in using leather extensively, not knowing its a bigger driver for cattle slaughter than consumption of beef.

Stray dogs are a HUGE challenge in India. We have lost many lives (mainly children- due to dog bites & sever mauling) in the past few years. This does little to evoke sympathy in the minds of people . I've seen less and less litters of late, in the last few years and I hope this is a sign of things to come.

Frankie, everything you say just so strikes home with me. My growing anger towards humans as each animal cruelty topic emerges, as each e-mail I receive describes the latest injustice to other species, and the total disregard and lack of any interest in animal welfare that is exhibited by our politicians, makes me feel alienated from most of the human species. I do what I can, I give donations, I sign petitions, I write to politicians (especially ACT ones!). I truly admire you and hopefully having read your article it will help me to be more focussed and to continue to do what I can, without the anger!

I was very pleased to get in contact with George Hulse. One see the dogs on TV and one wonders - what happens to them? I felt reassured that if dogs are deployed with Australian defence personnel, all due care is taken and the dogs are valued for their work and for themselves.

Thanks so much to QCA for letting members know.

How absolutely delightful and deeply moving! God bless all the lovely children and their carers who expressed their concern about the plight and suffering of those animals people in general still call food in such a compassioned way.
Thank you for speaking up
