A report from our friend Anna Hall, guardian of Olav the rabbit, in Sydney:
“We had a successful day at the Pets and People event recently. The organiser was most impressed with our stall and how busy we were all day, so let’s hope we get invited again.
We managed to enlighten quite a few people on the preciousness of rabbits and the appropriate level of care.
In large part thanks to Yun Si, who had, with her partner Robert, backed and iced with rabbit faces over 80 cup cakes, we raised just over $140 for Companion Rabbit Advocates.
We had two wonderful rabbits from Sydney Dog & Cats’ Home + three of their staff and volunteers. This made our stall all the more special and we did manage to encourage some visitors to consider adoption – though not always of rabbits.
So hopefully other animals too will benefit from all their efforts.
The Mayor of Sydney, Clover Moore, a great advocate of animal issues, came over to our stall.
