APGAW –  Associate Parliamentary Group for Animal Welfare – is an all party group made up of MPs, Peers and animal welfare groups, and aims to promote animal welfare issues in Westminster and Europe, provide a discussion forum, and influence legislation.

All Party Parliamentary Groups such as the APGAW are not formal parts of the legislature but raise the profile of issues and can put ideas to the Government. Members of the public cannot attend meetings but can ask their MP to do so.

The next meeting of the APGAW will be discussing the future of pet shops with invited representatives from the industry.

Further information including how to get in contact and get involved can be found at the APGAW website here.
