Although we are only a small group we sometimes find ourselves in a position to make donations to groups, nominated by our members, which are working directly for the welfare of animals. Below are some details of groups to which we have donated.

Animal Aid peacefully fights animal abuse and promotes a cruelty-free lifestyle. Animal Aid's educations team delivers 100s of talks in schools and colleges across the UK every year. Recently funding from Animal Aid helped develop a non-animal test to replace lethal dose animal tests. For the second year running Animal Aid has organised a Future of Science Student Conference encouraging young people to pursue a career in animal-free research. Animal Aid's petition to ban snares achieved the 100,000 signatures necessary for it to be debated in parliament. Later that year Wales banned snares. | |
| The Animal Interfaith Alliance (AIA) is a unique alliance of the world’s most influential faith-based, animal advocacy organisations. It speaks out on the moral treatment of animals by drawing on the combined wisdom of all faiths and worldviews. It promotes social harmony by bringing the faith groups together on an issue they all share a concern for. AIA’s activities include animal advocacy and education. Set up in 2009, Beneath the Wood is a Viva! award-winning vegan sanctuary based in Wales that provides permanent homes for dogs with behaviour issues, pigs, sheep, cats and horses. In 2019 they were involved in a high-profile case that rescued 53 pigs from truly horrifying conditions at an illegal slaughterhouse in Pembrokeshire. They now have over 90 pigs, and over 135 animals in total. | |

Hillside Animal Sanctuary was founded in 1995 to help and campaign for animals in need and most importantly, to bring public awareness to the millions of animals suffering every day in the intensive factory farming industry. Although at Hillside we have given sanctuary to 2500 horses, ponies and donkeys, many of our residents have been rescued from the farming industry. Anyone can sponsor a whole range of animals and receive a photo and news of them twice a year. | |
Set in Carmarthenshire, this group celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2025. It was formed in response to the appalling condition and handling of wild hill ponies and foals in local sales and offers a refuge and safe haven. It is a member of the National Equine Welfare Council. | |
Based in Carmarthenshire, Many Tears takes in animals from difficult situations, rehabilitates them both physically and emotionally, and finds them loving homes. They rescue dogs from breeders, where they are often subjected to neglect, poor living conditions, and overbreeding. They also take in abandoned and stray cats and dogs from pounds, unwanted pets directly from homes and dogs from overseas, when they have space. | |

Sulala Society is the first and only animal rescue in the Gaza Strip. It was founded by Mr. Saeed Al Err, a man with great love for animals. Unable to bear seeing poor stray animals hungry in the street, he went on daily feeding tours for stray animals since the early 2000s. In 2006, he was able to translate his love and charitable work to the establishment of a registered organisation, Sulala (Arabic for “animal breeds”). Today, Sulala has a dog shelter and a cat shelter, and a donkey. | |
