David Martin is a Labour Member of the European Parliament, one of the six MEPs representing Scotland in Brussels and Strasbourg.

He is Vice-President of One Kind, the Scottish animal advocacy group. www.onekind.org

He is currently Vice President of the European Parliamentary Intergroup for Animals, a post previously held by Caroline Lucas MP when she was an MEP.

David took part in the launch of the Group’s pledge for the 2014 European Elections. The aim of the pledge is for EU political groups and individual candidates to ‘sign up’ to including animal welfare related issues in their political programmes.

To coincide with the debate, a new website was launched that brings together all the information about the elections and the animal welfare issues at stake.

It can be found at http://www.voteforanimals.eu/
