The artist Pat Mear received the Mahaveer Award for 2010 presented by Nitin Mehta, founder of the Young Indian Vegetarians and a QCA patron, for her past work of campaigning to help animals.
Last year’s recipient of this award was Lesley Tarleton, founder of Freshfields Animal Sanctuaries in Merseyside and North Wales.
Pat is exhibiting some 77 pieces of her work at the Green Fair in Heathfield, Croydon in September.
She says:
“I was honoured to receive an invitation from Lorraine Chatfield, who is Warden of Heathfield and the Ecology Group, and who has also received this prestigious Award.”
