From our patron and advisor André Menache:
In 2010 the University of Utrecht in Holland stopped conducting brain research on monkeys.
Yesterday the Radboud University in Nijmegen followed suit by announcing that it will cease monkey research once the current licences run out. That leaves just the University of Amsterdam.
This successful campaign is thanks to the hard work of Anti Dierproeven Coalitie (ADC) and the public support it has received. A year ago we handed Radboud University a petition containing 16 000 signatures calling for an end to monkey experiments. That call has now been answered.
This follows the recent release of around 70 monkeys from a pharmaceutical lab in Holland. All of the monkeys have successfully been relocated to sanctuaries and shelters to live out their lives in peace.
~ QCA would like to congratulate our patron André on this excellent advance.
